Tenner Week Festive Prep Schedule

  • Sunday Stocktake – today, optional
  • Day 1 (Monday): Weekly menu
  • Day 2 (Tuesday): Xmas menu + zero spend day
  • Day 3 (Wednesday): Gift budget and list
  • Day 4 (Thursday): Home spa / relax day
  • Day 5 (Friday): Decoration plan
  • Day 6 (Saturday): Homemade day (gifts, cards, decorations etc)
  • Day 7 (Sunday): Bake ‘n’ freeze day

If you need a reminder of the Tenner Week rules, you can check the Tenner Week challenge home page. There’s also an optional TV Diet, which I’m doing this time around. If you haven’t done one before, you have a ration of four hours of TV or film that you can watch at home during the week.

Sunday Festive Prep Stocktake

This Sunday Stocktake is in two parts. First, work out all the food and drink you have for this week, and anything you might want to keep yourself occupied. Have a look round the kitchen in the fridge, freezer and cupboards and make a list of everything you could use in tomorrow’s menu for the week. Make a note of whatever you have to use.

Also think about books you haven’t read yet, gift vouchers and supermarket points you could redeem for things without spending any money, tickets and passes you already have, toiletries or beauty products you could use and so on.

Then, it’s on to the second part, which is to do some festive stocktaking. Think about whether you have any craft materials for making decorations, cards, wrapping paper, gift tags, or home made presents. Also have a look around the kitchen for ingredients for festive foods (sweet or savoury) that you could make at the weekend and maybe freeze. Finally, have a look through any festive decorations you might already own, and look at what’s in need of cleaning, repair or replacement.
