Penny Choose: Brewhaha Rose Tea

Sometimes you just need a little treat. Something to cheer yourself up, to take your mind off the rain and the cold. Preferably something that isn’t going to put a massive dent in your budget, so you can enjoy it guilt-free.

Today’s Penny Choose treat ticks all of those boxes. It’s the Rose Tea from Brewhaha, a rather nice company with a tea room in Edinburgh. It’s by far the tastiest, best balanced rose tea I’ve ever drunk, and it’s made from a blend of Sri Lankan black tea, rose petals and rose essence.

The flavour is strong but it’s still pretty natural, and it avoids that rather ‘soapy’ aftertaste that other floral teas sometimes suffer from.

Yes, it’s rather girly and flowery, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, I find. This tea is the perfect excuse for a civilised time out sort of moment, and has always been well received when I’ve given it as a gift.

A packet comes in with an RRP of £2.40 for 25 tea bags. You can order it directly from Brewhaha, or find it in your local deli, branches of Bill’s restaurant chain, or the Harvey Nichols food hall.

Go on, treat yourself…
