March Spring Clean: Tenner Week: Day 4
The weekend flew by, and fortunately I made it through the Home Show thingy without the need to buy anything, although I did eat an awful lot of free cheese and down the obligatory free Yakult that’s ever present at these events.
On Sunday night I broke the usual cold weather habit of relaxing in front of the telly with a cuppa after dinner as well, although I did watch the news headlines for 10 minutes, and I did the same on day 4 as well.
There was Dorset apple tray bake cake to snack on today, which used up our leftover apples, and I had some vegetable soup for lunch.
For dinner, I defrosted a portion of frozen homemade pizza dough, and made a huge thin and crispy pizza with loads of toppings to use up things in the fridge and cupboards, including some ‘essentials’ artichoke hearts (seriously Waitrose, these are not essentials – but they are delicious) that Beau had bought on a shopping trip, some sliced onion and red pepper, herbs from the garden and goat cheese and black olives from the fridge. It was beautiful, and we washed it down with a beer each.
Today was ‘mend something’ day as well, so I fixed up a few things around the garden, including the structure over a raised bed that holds up some anti-insect mesh – it should save me lots of bother and damaged crops later in the season. I also sowed up a few modules of veggie, salad and herb seedlings before dinner, and made a related eBay purchase.
Spent today: £1.85 (plant labels needed to tell seedlings apart in the garden, an investment in food for later in the year)
Total spent this week: £6.15
TV watched today: 10 minutes
Total TV watched this week: 110 minutes
How’s your budget going this week?
