Jump Start January: Week 4: Day 2

Think about the fitness resources that you already have, but aren’t using. Today we are going to dust them off and make use of them, for at least 30 minutes of exercise.

What might be lying around unused? You could have:

  • A gym membership
  • Weights
  • Exercise machines (bike, treadmill, stepper etc)
  • Exercise DVDs
  • Yoga mat
  • Active games console
  • Toning gadgets

Get out there and make the most of it.

After you’ve finished your exercising today, have a think about why you stopped using your exercise equipment or your gym membership. For example:

  • Is it difficult to get to? For example, is your exercise bike covered with drying laundry or old coats?
  • Is the gym too far from home or work?
  • Is it hard to stay motivated, for example, if you’re staring at a brick wall all the time?

Now try to think of some ways to make useful fitness resources more accessible. Rearrange a room, change the view, or just have a tidy up.

At Golightly Gardens I’ll be using the Pilates ball for some sit-ups, and trying some balance games on the Wii Fit.
