Jump Start January: Week 3: Day 3
It’s Day 17 of Jump Start January. Tenner Week is not all about doing chores, or being busy for the sake of it. Today is a day to pamper yourself, and take some time to relax and unwind.
Everyone has their own idea of what’s relaxing, and not everyone else is going to feel the same way. For example, listening to whale song might really float your boat, but it makes me want to punch a hole in the nearest window, and so on.
Anyway, here are a few ideas for cheap ways to pamper and relax today. Pick one that sounds properly relaxing to you, and keep that whale music the hell away from me.
- Switch your phone off, and make sure you won’t be bothered by any email alerts or other interruptions. Have an evening where you aren’t always on call, or distracted
- Treat yourself to a home spa evening. Find unused beauty products sitting in cupboards, cabinets and drawers and make the most of them.
- Soak in the bath or have a shower with fancy products.
- Put your feet up for a few minutes and have a cup of tea.
- Listen to your favourite music, radio show or podcast, or simply enjoy some peace and quiet.
- Come home on time from work, change into your pyjamas and read a magazine or a book.
- Have an early night.
Here at Golightly Gardens I’ll be making gnocchi with spinach and parmesan (very easy) for dinner, then having a nice long candlelit soak in the tub. It’s also time for a pedicure and doing a deep condition on my hair. And an early night. No whales.
Spent so far: £3.50 (a drink while out yesterday, and some milk)
TV watched so far: 15 minutes (Beau put the telly on and I forgot I wasn’t supposed to be watching it).
How’s your Tenner Week going so far? Remember, if you can’t live on £10 this week, you can still do the daily activities as part of Jump Start January.
