Jump Start Aug: Holiday Prep Week: Day 7

make a handbag travel essentials kit Jump StartIt’s the last day of our summer prep week for the Jump Start – how are you getting on? Today’s simple task is to put together a travel bag / work bag kit to keep yourself looking good on the go.

You don’t have to spend too much money on this, and if you already have bottles and pots etc then you’ll be able to decant things you already have for free. The idea is to avoid lugging lots of full size stuff around, but still look and feel great.

You might need to buy a small bag for this as well, to keep things together – or you could improvise by reusing one of the presentation bags that travel sets are usually sold in.

Think about what you regularly need while you’re out for the day or taking a short trip. Be practical for the most part, but think about the occasional nice thing too. For example you might like to include:

  • Small comb or hairbrush
  • Tissues or wipes
  • Sticking plasters
  • Travel size deodorant
  • Travel size hand cream
  • Travel size sunscreen
  • Tiny pot of body butter or moisturiser
  • Shine-absorbing papers or sheets
  • Small atomiser for perfume/aftershave
  • Mini toothbrush and paste
  • Lip balm

If you need reliable, long lasting bottles and pots, or other travel accessories, I think the Muji travel section is your best bet. They last for years, have good designs and are very reasonably priced in the first place.

Do you have any tips for looking good on the go?
