Join us for a chat about families and finance!
As you may already know, family finances and personal finance education are subjects that are very close to my heart. That’s why I’m delighted to announce that I will be co-hosting a social media event on Twitter early next week that’s devoted to all of these issues.
My co-host will be the lovely Cass from Frugal Family (@frugalfamily) and the event is being supported by Gocompare.com (@Gocompare). It’s on Monday 24th of September, and will take the form of a 1-hour Twitter chat that starts at 7pm.
We’ll be discussing a number of important questions about money, families and modern life, and we’d love you to get involved. Please join in and share your opinions and experiences. We want to hear from parents, parents-to-be, students and more. If you learned any really important lessons about personal finance while you were growing up we want you hear from you too – tell us about any good advice you were given.
We’ll be covering a wide range of topics, including the following:
- how to teach youngsters about budgeting
- pocket money and earning money
- should personal finance be taught in schools?
- preparing teens to leave home
- student finance at university
There’s more information about the event over on Gocompare.com’s Covered magazine.
If you’d like to join in, follow us on Twitter and look out for the following hashtag: #cashchat. The chat will start at 7pm on Monday 24th and end at 8pm, and during that hour there will also be an exciting competition.
Competition details
Every 10 minutes during the chat, Gocompare.com will be giving away a Kindle to what they consider to be the ‘best’ tweet containing the #cashchat hashtag  – yes, that’s 6 lovely prizes of Kindles to give away. If you’d like the full terms & conditions, please take a moment to read them here. Please remember that to enter this competition you need to follow @Gocompare on Twitter and that your tweet must contain the hashtag #cashchat.
