Five things I’m loving this week: Mid June
It’s the middle of June already – where’s this month gone? It’s completely flown past at high speed for me so now I’m taking the opportunity to slow down, think happy thoughts and take a moment to look at some of the great items and treats that I’ve recently discovered. There are also a couple of things that I really like that are on sale this week so I’ve included those too.
Primark bead and tassel coral earrings, £4.00. In store only, while stocks last. An easy way to update your outfits this summer, with on-trend boho beads and tasssels and a pop of bright colour. And you even get change out of a fiver, which is frankly always a bonus.
Yazoo No Added Sugar chocolate milk, on sale for £1.00 for 4 at Morrisons until 8th of July. No added sugar, no artificial sweeteners, just a tasty milkshake with real cocoa that’s handy for packed lunches or occasional choc cravings. The Morrisons deal also includes the banana and strawberry flavours if you prefer those.
Material Girl ‘You Can’t Swim With Us’ body mist, £6.49 for 200ml at Superdrug. << Quick! Now on sale for only £3.23! Madge’s fragrance line has been thoroughly relaunched and upgraded with five new grown up scents and some seriously glam packaging. This one has refreshing, summery notes of green mandarin and water lily, perfect for throwing in your gym bag or spritzing on in warmer weather. Plus it has a Mean Girls reference and tons of shiny blue mermaid scales all over it, so what’s not to love?
Paperchase Kawaii Kool narwhal note block, £4.00. Erghmahgerrrd, how insanely cute is this chunky little block of notelets? Their entire Kawaii Kool collection of stationery and gifts is brilliantly designed and is selling like hot cakes, plus they’d make ideal stocking fillers if you’re the sort of person who likes to plan ahead. Or just treat yourself because you’ve fallen in love with his smiley little face. Awwww.
Root7 Geo Black Glasses, £21.60 for a set of 2 in the sale at Red Candy. The design of these drinking glasses was inspired by the shape of Victorian terrariums, and they arrived in a beautiful gift box. They feel weighty in the hand when you pick up your drink, so there’s a quality feel to them. You could use one or both of them as a mini terrarium for your favourite succulent or cactus, and they’re also stackable which is a smart design feature since space is an issue in many kitchens and home bar areas.
Here’s what they look like in use, pictured above, for drinking cocktails and spirits. Also available with a gold trim from the same supplier if you like a little bling with your home decor. I’m very fond of these for their touch of vintage-inspired home style.
Here’s this week’s Penny’s Picks, this time with the price tags, to round up.
