Five things I’m loving this week: Late September
Time for some more treats! This time around we have reviews of all kinds of goodies, and as usual most of them are under £10 and/or represent good value for money.
Restora hair treatment, £24.99. This is an intensive treatment for damaged hair, and it seems to work as a heat activated keratin product similar to an at-home Brazilian Blow Dry. I tried it and it definitely helped to make my hair look more shiny and less frizzy, and I got compliments about how healthy it looked. It needs to be repeated every month or so, and I think I’ll get about three treatments out of the bottle.
The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane, £11.95. I’ve been using a few drops of this retinoid solution at night for a month, and it seems to be improving the texture of my skin quite nicely and helping to fade red marks and pigmentation. I followed the instructions carefully and haven’t had any irritation.
Love Beauty and Planet shower gel: Tropical Hydration with coconut oil and ylang ylang, £3.99 for 500ml at Superdrug this week. There’s 1/3 off most of this new range at the moment, and you get a big bottle of nice quality shower gel that smells like a tropical holiday. As an added bonus it’s cruelty free, vegan, has no nasty ingredients and the packaging is recyclable. Lots of other lovely scents in the range too.
Divine Organic 85% dark chocolate with turmeric and ginger, on offer at £2.39 for 80g. Dark chocolate and ginger is a classic combination, but Divine just kicked it up a gear by adding turmeric to round out the rich flavour, and it’s fairly traded and co-owned by the chocolate farmers themselves. It’s delicious. Also available to pre-order at Natural Collection and will be arriving in other selected stores soon.
Lily Lolo mineral blush, £9.00. My favourite blusher, this is all-mineral and talc free, it lasts for ages and it’s great on sensitive skin. Lots of colours available, and I’ll be switching to a rose shade for the Autumn.
Have you treated yourself to anything nice lately? Which is your favourite in my list?
