Five things I’m loving this week: Late May 2018

five things I love this week Penny Picks treats late May 2018

It’s treats time again, so here we go with all kinds of goodies, bargains and offers to brighten up your week. With prices starting from as low as £1.50 and nothing costing over a tenner, there’s something for just about everyone.

Our first treat is Yoo Moo vanilla flavour frozen yogurt. This is creamy tasting and refreshing, and a healthier alternative to sickly sweet ice cream, which is nicer in my book for when the weather’s super hot. Chuck some in your freezer right now before the next heatwave hits and take advantage of the latest supermarket offers. It’s currently £2.00 a tub at Tesco, or 2 pots for £4.00 at Ocado.

Next we have Superdrug Argan Hair Therapy Pre Shampoo Hair Treatment, which is a real treat for stressed and damaged hair that needs to get its bounce back. It works a lot like cult classic Philip Kingsley Elasticizer but it’s only a fraction of the cost, and we all love a dupe for a high end brand don’t we? At £3.99 it’s a bit of a bargain.

This Wilko Sassy reporter’s notebook is so perfect it almost hurts, and it’s a snip at just £1.50. I love this! The whole of the new Sassy Stationery collection is as cute as anything, with prices from a very reasonable 50p, and I can see it rapidly becoming a blogger favourite so you might as well get in there first. Full collection here.

I’ve also been trying out a load of new Judge kitchen glassware and it’s absolutely perfect for foodies who also want great value for money. It’s all made from hardwearing borosilicate glass, and so far I’ve used it in a very hot oven, under the grill, and in the freezer with not a scratch on it. The simple styling means it can be mixed with all your other cookware and it’ll look good and won’t date: buy it once and keep it forever. Prices start from £4.00 for the 1 litre mixing bowl, and they’re also on sale at Harts this week with 25% off everything.

And finally, it’s time for tea. This is Glow tea from the new Superblends range by Twinings. Normally I’m not all that impressed by ‘functional foods’, but this tastes good so I’ll give it a free pass. It’s a green tea with flavours of strawberry, mint, cucumber and aloe vera, and it’s light, clean tasting and just right for spring and summer sipping. I can also see this being good as an iced tea, and possibly mixed into some long cocktails for sunny evenings. It’s £2.67 for a box at Morrisons, or £2.69 at ASDA.
