The BEST high street fashion collaborations for AW2017
Fashion fans on a budget are in for a real treat this Autumn, with a slew of interesting yet affordable collaborations between high street shops and designers. Here’s a quick rundown of what to look out for in the coming days and weeks – there’s something to get just about everyone excited.
& Other Stories x Kim Gordon
The hip chain & Other Stories has teamed up with ex Sonic Youth member Kim Gordon to create an arty, punky collection to bring out your inner fashion grrrrl. It contains 22 pieces; mostly tees, sweatshirts, sweaters and painted scarves, all decorated with quirky lettering or abstract watercolour designs (see pic below for a sneak peek).
Prices range from £23.00 to £59.00.
When it launches: 31st August 2017. Visit the & Other Stories UK site.
UNIQLO x JW Anderson
This hotly-anticipated launch from UNIQLO and JW Anderson is a mixture of heritage wear and ‘lifewear’ (street fashion).
Look out for a mixture of menswear and womenswear with cosy urban coats and macs with interesting detailing, signature stripes, and a mixture of go-anywhere neutrals and stand-out brights. Here are a few of the key pieces.
And here’s how it all looks when it’s styled up.
Prices start at £14.90 and go up to £139.90 for the most expensive coat, so there are some real bargains in here. Probably worth getting up early for, especially the macs, denim and skirts.
When it launches: 18th September 2017. Find the collection here.
Lidl x Heidi Klum
Skinties and bargainistas will love the Heidi Klum collection that’s due to launch at Lidl this September. Available in-store only, this has been dubbed ‘Heidi and the City’ and she says it’s inspired by New York style. It includes clothing, shoes and accessories, and the clothes will be European sizes 36 to 44.
There’s a lot of black, leopard print, tan and electric blue, plus some nice looking denim.
Standout pieces include a real leather jacket for £49.99, patterned scarves and wraps, and a denim boiler suit. Here’s a second shot, showcasing some of the other designs. I’m hearing good things about the quality of the jackets.
Prices start at £6.99 for a camisole and go up to £49.99 for the leather jackets.
When it launches: 18th September (in store only). To find out more visit the Lidl site or look for the #LetsWow hashtag on social media.
River Island x Ashish
This is the first time Ashish has worked with River Island, and you can expect something a little bit unusual from this one because most of the pieces are unisex. The range features casual loose fits and cosy pieces to relax in, including pairs of pyjamas, stripy socks and quirky oversized slogan jumpers.
The slogan jumpers are perfect for AW2017 urban styling, and I have my eye on more than one of the designs because they’re going to be perfect for the cooler weather. Not sure about the prices just yet, but I’ll update as soon as these become available.
When it launches: 21st September 2017. Find Ashish at River Island nearer this time.
H&M x Erdem
Will there be a crashed website and an in-store bunfight for this particular collaboration? You bet there will. This affordable offering from Erdem at H&M includes menswear as well as womenswear, and looks set to contain plenty of Erdem’s signature super-feminine floral dresses plus men’s suiting and shirts.
There’s very little by way of images so far, but Baz Luhrman has shot them a 26 second teaser trailer where all the models seem to be running away from the camera in case you’d like to be intrigued and/or infuriated. Maybe it was something he said…
There’s a pyjama-style shirt in the menswear section that looks gorgeous, and I’ve spotted a great pair of dangly earrings for the occasional glam moment, but my guess is they’re keeping us guessing about most of these pieces for maximum hype. No prices as yet, but will update as information becomes available.
When it launches: 2nd November 2017. Visit H&M on the launch date or buy in selected stores.
Are you looking forward to any of these collections for the coming season? What do you have your eye on so far?
