Bank holiday decorating and DIY

The last couple of weeks have seen a fair bit of decorating, renovating, and general fixing up of the house at Golightly Gardens.

I’ve managed to waterproof and paint the garden shed, decorate the living room and paint up a very ugly MDF bookcase to disguise it a bit so far.

It’s all been done on a strict budget, and there’s been a fair bit of bargain hunting going on. We’ve also been buying lighting, tablecloths, curtains and accessories etc, and the place is really starting to look good. Soon the dining room, main bedroom and garden will be all fixed up, which will be a bit of a relief.

If you’re looking for some bank holiday bargains, my top picks are:

  • The BHS lighting sale
  • The Homebase sale in general
  • House of Fraser’s homewares sale
