Back from a little blog holiday
Well hello there. How the devil are you? I’ve been having a little holiday from blogging recently, and am now back with a few updates about what I’ve been up to and some future themes and features that will soon be coming to the site.
Most long term experienced bloggers know that readership naturally drops off during late July and August, mainly because so many people are away on holiday and / or looking after their kids before school starts back. As I’ve been in this game for a few years, I’ve started to see this both as a natural part of the usual pattern that’s nothing to worry about and, increasingly, as a chance to take a short break and recharge my batteries.
Soon enough we’ll all be gearing up for the start of autumn and that back-to-work or back-to-school feeling, so I’m back in blogland and ready to do my thing again.
Last month was pretty hectic with lots and lots of Christmas showcases and meetings with PRs, so in a few weeks I’ll be able to bring you some really interesting new products, services and deals, reviews and trend reports. That includes some interesting gift guides and the best of festive food and drink.
I also have a real urge to get ready for autumn, including some decluttering, organising, and planning. For starters I’ll be tidying up around the home and office, sorting out the kitchen garden, creating a brand new capsule wardrobe, and setting a few challenges. There will also be some articles about general money saving, plus a few bright ideas for wellbeing and quality of life on a budget.
Looking forward to taking this blog back to its cheap and cheerful roots, and finding all the latest ways to raise your standard of living without overspending. Hope you can join me.
Looking forward to seeing what you’ve got planned for us for the autumn and winter.
We’re in the awkward pre-Exchange part of the housebuying process (I have many thoughts on the English housebuying process and many of them are not fit for print!), so I am trying to declutter while packing (but still, you know, be able to live in my current flat for a unknown amount of time.) and I am desperate to nest in the new house while also factoring in that we will have no money after all this. Heh!
Dear Penny,
Glad to hear from you again. Hope your break was interesting. Looking forward to seeing what are your ideas for the coming season.
Love, Pat
