5 things I’m loving this week: Early Nov 2018

Five things reviews treats good value early Nov 2018

Time for a review post, with all kinds of things that are useful, beautiful or plain old delicious. You know the drill. These are the products that have wowed me this week, including some excellent multi-buy and seasonal offers.

In particular you might like to know that Superdrug are knocking it out of the park with their deals right now. Look out for new products, 3-for-2 on cosmetics, buy-1-get-1-free on a wide range of skincare, and some juicy Black Friday deals opening a fortnight early for Beautycard holders. Get to it, bargain hunters.

My first review is for the new MUA Blushed Matte Blush Powder. These are pretty clearly inspired the rave-reviewed Milani blushers, which were widely rumoured to be a dupe for the pricey but lovely Tarte matte blushes. The MUA version’s a fraction of the price of the original, with an RRP of £2.50, and they’re finely milled, highly pigmented and long lasting as well as being cruelty free.

I have one in ‘Rose Tea’ which is a flattering medium shade of rose pink that’s perfect for autumn wear. They’re reduced to only £2.00 this week at Superdrug, and they’re also in the 3-for-2 so go ahead and treat yo’self. There are a few extra colours including shimmer shades available on the MakeupAcademy website too.

Now on to the Superdrug Bloom fragrance range, most of which is half price right now and also a flippin’ bargain even at full price. Nearly all of these fragrances are similar to Jo Malone style colognes, and the perfume gift sets are perfect stocking fillers. They’re sure to sell out fast so snap them up ASAP if you’re going to get one.

The next review is for Eat Your Hat Organic Milk Chocolate with Sri Lankan Cardamom. This is a beautiful creamy bar of gently spiced chocolate, it’s organic and fairly traded, plus the packaging is 100% compostable including the cellophane wrapper inside. RRP £3.95. Find it at Ocado, Superfood Market (best price £2.75) and directly from Eat Your Hat. I’ll be stocking up on a few bars of this before the festive season.

It seems like cleaning mania is sweeping the nation right now, but unfortunately a lot of it seems to involve really toxic and nasty cleaning products. On the bright side, this Ecozone 3 in 1 Kitchen Cleaner & Degreaser is an absolute game changer, melting away caked on grease and dirt at speed without harming the environment or pets, and I rate it very highly. The RRP is £3.99 but you can regularly find it on offer at Amazon, Ocado, Ethical Superstore and more.

My final review is of one of the most fun ranges I’ve seen in a while: the Paperchase Super Future Rebel collection. It’s a David Bowie meets pop art glam fest, with stationery, bags, drinks bottles, phone cases, fairy lights and more. Discount code: use ‘FRIEND15’ to get 15% off full price items in online orders.

Prices range from £3 for an art print to £32 for a velvet rucksack – and you can put me down for the shopper bag, the make-your-own neon sign and the glitter lightning stripe note book. Get gifting or pick up something sparkly for yourself, aaah wham bam thank you ma’am!
