Competition: Win a 16 bottle wine cooler

December 20th, 2010 by Penny Golightly

Party people, gather round and get a load of this! We are really spoiling you at Golightly Towers this week, you lucky lot.

Looking for a stylish solution to keep your champagnes, whites and rosés at the optimum temperature? Look no further. The fabulously clever people at refrigeration specialists Husky have created the super-sleek Reflections chiller, with its sparkling black mirror-finish glass door. Gorgeous, isn’t it?

One lucky winner will be getting superior chilling for up to 16 bottles of wine. The touch-screen-operated, low-noise, 48-litre unit chills the bottles to their correct storage temperatures from 8°-18°C, and is a must for any connoisseur’s kitchen (or party pad, cellar, cubby hole etc etc). This cooler incorporates the latest in the thermoelectric technology and, being compressor-free, avoids any vibration that could disturb bottle sediment. It’s CFC-free too, so that’s another box ticked.

The Reflections cooler is available exclusively from Argos in store and online, priced at £99.95.

If you’d like to win yourself one (and who wouldn’t, frankly?) then just answer the question below.

Competition question: What’s the energy consumption of this wine cooler (in kWh/year)? If you need a little hint, follow the link above to the Argos site. Leave your answer in the comments box below, and the winner will be drawn at random from the correct entries on 4th of January, 2011.

Terms and conditions: One entry per household please, multiple entries will be disqualified. UK entrants only. Winner drawn at random from correct answers. Your email address will not be used by this site or passed on to any third parties – only the winner’s email will be used to contact them. Please do not post competition answers on other websites.

Quick competitions roundup

November 9th, 2010 by Penny Golightly

Time for a brief check-in with current competitions.

First of all, many thanks to everyone who entered the Caritaz charity jewellery competition on here. There were some excellent entries and the three winners will be announced later this week.

Next up, I’m giving away a copy of the Style Me Vintage hair book by Belinda Hay on twitter. It’s a prize draw, and if you’d like to be in with a chance then all you need to do is follow me on the site and retweet the competition tweet.

Another comp you might just love is Beauty Heaven over at Wahanda, so hurry up and join in with that one if you like the sound of a main prize worth over £2000. That’s a lot of pampering, girlies. Think about it. The very least you’ll get is a free £5 voucher, which is always welcome at Golightly Towers.

The Clarks ‘Every Shoe Tells a Story’ competition has closed, with the winner, a very lucky Lisa Hughes, getting £3000 of Trailfinders vouchers. Her winning entry was about finding shoes to impress Elvis in Vegas – cute.  Clarks are worth ‘liking’ on facebook if you want to keep up to date with their regular offers etc.

Happy comping!

Cocktail chocolates competition

October 15th, 2010 by Penny Golightly

It’s National Chocolate Week AND it’s also National Cocktail Week. That might just make it the best week of 2010!

It’s also been a wonderful few days at PennyGolightly.com, including an enthusiastic mention from The Times newspaper’s Money online section, and our 10,000th bargain tweet going out on twitter.

Time for a little celebration, then. Drink, anyone?

Here’s a delicious treat of a competition for you, combining cocktails and chocolate in a beautiful box, tied up with a pretty bow. We have Cocktail Collection chocolates by Chocoholics to give away to two lucky, lucky people, who will be able to enjoy luxury cocktail flavours including Singapore Sling, Mojito, Peach Bellini, Tequila and Cosmopolitan. Feast your eyes on these:

Scrumptious! If you haven’t visited Chocoholics before, I can heartily recommend their products (and I’m very fussy when it comes to chocolate). They have everything from luxury boxes to seasonal gifts, and they also do a nice line in wedding favours, personalised chocolates and even corporate gifts for companies. The most important thing is that their products truly do taste delicious, and are perfect for treating yourself or someone else who’s special. Look out for their news and offers on twitter too.

If you’d like to win one of these Cocktail Collection boxes, please answer the following question by leaving the correct answer in the comment box below. The two winners will be drawn at lunchtime on Friday the 22nd of October.

Competition question: Penny Golightly recently sampled the beautiful Rose and Violet Creams from Chocoholics, and will be buying another box very soon. How much does a box of Rose and Violet Creams cost on the Chocoholics website?

Terms and conditions: UK entrants only please, multiple entries will be disallowed, no cash alternative. Winners drawn randomly from correct entries at noon on 22nd October 2010.

Caritaz competition

October 8th, 2010 by Penny Golightly

As you may already know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and that’s a subject very close to my heart. To mark the occasion we’ve teamed up with the wonderful people at Caritaz, the charity fundraising jewellery designers who give 25% of their retail prices directly to good causes.

We have three fabulous prizes to give away, kindly donated by Caritaz. If you enter this competition you could win one of three solid silver Eternityz bangles, set with pink Swarovski crystals, that normally retail at £70 each and support the Breast Cancer Campaign and Breast Cancer Haven. Look how pretty they are:

If you like these products but aren’t one of the lucky winners, you can visit the online shop at Caritaz to treat yourself or someone else to some sparkling jewellery, and help out your favourite good causes at the same time. You can also follow Caritaz on Twitter to keep up with their latest news.

Competition:  All you have to do to enter is email caritazeternityz@pennygolightly.com and leave your name and a 20-word (or less) comment telling us why you would like to win one of these bangles.**

**Please note that if you enter this competition, you are also joining the Caritaz mailing list. Your details will not be passed on to any other third party, or used for any purposes other than occasionally telling you about Caritaz products or events.

Terms & conditions: Only one entry per person, multiple entries will be disqualified, UK entrants only please, no cash alternative to prizes. Competition closes at noon on 30th October 2010. Judges’ decision is final. Please only enter this competition if you are happy to join the Caritaz mailing list.
